The highest quality of care is obtained through quality teaching and child care from trained and experienced staff, strong parental involvement, appropriate resources and community support.
At Nepean Tiny Tots we value, respect and support the histories, cultures, languages, traditions, child rearing practices and lifestyle choices of families.
We practise the Early Years Learning Framework and aim to ensure children have a strong sense of identity and wellbeing, are connected with and contribute to their world, are confident and involved learners and effective communicators.
The centre follows the Early Years Learning Framework principles, practices and learning outcomes of Belonging, Being and Becoming.
We recognise that a sharing partnership between families and educators is necessary in a child’s early years.
We are committed to providing a safe, home-like environment in which staff, visitors, children and their families feel comfortable and play an active part.
Children
Children learn through freely experiencing and experimenting with the world around them, through connecting with people, places, technologies and natural and processed materials. They thrive and develop when their needs are met by provisions of a safe, nurturing, stable environment and a curriculum which encourages and enhances individual potential, interests, needs and abilities. We believe children learn through the process of play not the product.
Families
We want all families to feel confident and valued where their input and involvement are encouraged and their diversity and values are recognised and celebrated. Families feel supported where their input care is accessible and there is open communication and a sharing of resources and decision making with educators and management. Families are children’s most valued teachers and models so their involvement is an important part of their child’s experience whilst in our care.
Educators
Nepean Tiny Tots educators are empowered and supported with their personal and professional development through ongoing training, critical reflection, effective communication and a positive work environment.
Curriculum
The Curriculum will scaffold each individual child’s learning by offering a range of planned and spontaneous, large and small as well as individual experiences. The curriculum will extend on children’s play and learning experiences. Reciprocal relationships with families and communities will play an important part in developing the mind, body and spirit of the holistic child.
